The Galées, these round-hulled boats, enabled Jacques Coeur, emblematic man of Bourges, adventurer and merchant at heart, to sail in the 15th century from the Mediterranean seas to the Middle East. Located on the 1st floor, this 40 m² family suite includes a bedroom (160 cm bed), a living room with kitchenette and dining area with 2 additional 90 cm beds. The floor boards are made of pine tree.
The galley is a sailing and rowing boat, used for trade in the Middle Ages.
The galleys are the symbol of the success of Jacques Coeur, a great trader throughout the Mediterranean in the 15th century.
Jacques Coeur, a native of Bourges, will build a huge Palace. He became treasurer of the king in 1439, proof of his fortune and his success.
